Carolina Water Service, Inc.’s Request to Raise Water and Sewer Prices
(Docket No. W-354 Sub 360)

On April 27, 2018, Carolina Water Service, Inc. of North Carolina (Carolina Water) filed an application for authority to increase its prices for providing water and sewer service in all of its North Carolina service areas except the Corolla Light/Monteray Shores service area. The amount of the proposed increase varies by service area and community. For details about Carolina Water’s proposed new prices, see the Commission’s May 22, 2018 Order.

The Commission has scheduled six hearings throughout Carolina Water’s service area in order to take statements from members of the public about the Company’s proposed price increases as well as the quality of service that Carolina Water provides. In addition, the Commission has scheduled an expert witness hearing in Raleigh where Carolina Water, the Public Staff of the North Carolina Utilities Commission and other parties will provide expert witness testimony and cross examine each other’s witnesses. The public is welcome to observe the expert witness hearing.
