On November 29, 2017, Wilkinson Solar LLC filed an application for an amended certificate of public convenience and necessity to build a 74-MW merchant plant solar generating facility. The facility is to be located south of Terra Ceia Road, east and west of Christian School Road, and south of Vreugdenhil Road, with a portion on the north side of Terra Ceia Road, on the west side of Gaylord Road, in Beaufort County. A map showing the site location can be found on page 3 of this document.

A hearing to hear testimony from the public was held on March 19, 2018, at the Beaufort County Courthouse in Washington, North Carolina. A second hearing for the purpose of hearing expert witness testimony will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., in Commission Hearing Room 2115, Dobbs Building, 430 North Salisbury Street, Raleigh. The public is welcome to observe the expert witness hearing, but may not participate.
