Evidentiary Hearing

Superior Courtroom 3B
Guilford County Courthouse
201 South Eugene Street
Greensboro, NC

Background

On April 24, 2017, the Sit-In Movement, Inc., filed a formal complaint against Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke).  The Sit-In Movement contests the need for it to pay a deposit in order to preclude Duke from disconnecting its electricity service.  Sit-In Movement requested a hearing. Subsequently, the Commission scheduled this evidentiary hearing during which the Sit-In Movement has the burden of proving its case via the presentation of testimony and documents. Duke may provide testimony and documents as well, and the Commission may ask questions of any witness. A court reporter will create a formal transcript of the proceeding.

Members of the general public are welcome to observe the proceeding.
