Directions and Parking

The North Carolina Utilities Commission is located at:
Dobbs Building
430 North Salisbury Street
Raleigh, NC 27603

Wilmington Street and Salisbury Street (both are one-way streets) define the two sides of the block on which the Dobbs Building is located (maps). The building's exterior is grey granite. Public access to the building is from the grassy mall area on the east side of the building. Visitors enter at the Dobbs Building Reception - Lobby Entrance, which is the third floor of the building. All visitors are required to check in at the Dobbs Building Security Desk.

The Chief Clerk's Office is located in Room 5063 on the Fifth Floor. The Commission's main hearing room is located on the Second Floor, Room 2115.

FROM INTERSTATE 40
Take Exit 298-B, turn right onto South Saunders Street headed north. South Saunders Street turns into McDowell Street in the direction of downtown. After McDowell crosses Lane Street, there is an entrance to Visitor's Parking Lot #2 (Deck 75) on the right.

FROM WEST ON US-70
Stay on Glenwood Avenue to Peace Street. Turn Left onto West Peace Street. Turn right onto North Salisbury Street. The Visitor's Parking Lot #2 (Deck 75) will be on the right, past the Dobbs Bldg.

FROM EAST ON US-64
Take exit 419 for US-440W toward US-1/Wake Forest. Take Exit 13A onto New Bern Ave. headed west towards downtown (and Wake Med Hospital). Continue on New Bern Ave. which turns into Edenton Street. Turn right onto McDowell Street. After McDowell crosses Lane Street, there is an entrance to Visitor's Parking Lot #2 (Deck 75) on the right.

FROM NORTH ON US-1 (Capital Blvd.)
Continue on Capital Blvd. to the Peace Street exit. Turn left onto W. Peace Street. Turn right onto North Salisbury Street. The Visitor's Parking Lot #2 (Deck 75) will be on the right, past the Dobbs Bldg.
